blog #9

Welcome to our new website

Welcome to the reconceived and redesigned World SciTech website. Slip off your shoes, grab a chair, and make yourself comfortable. We hope you’ll spend some time looking around.

It’s often said that science is a unifying force, a shared enterprise that can help knit the world together. Our new website aims to embody that idea. We’ve merged our science and technology content, bringing together Clark Boyd – whose weekly tech podcast looks at the human side of global technology – and Rhitu Chatterjee – whose weekly science podcast provides an imaginative mix of science stories from around the world. You’ll also find coverage of global health and environmental issues here.

We cover science news not just from the obvious places (such as the US and Europe) but from the forgotten corners of the globe. Take a tour of our interactive map. You’ll find stories from Cameroon, Ecuador, Antarctica, India

We hope you’ll visit often not only to read and listen to the latest science and technology news, but to become an active part of our global online community. Subscribe to our podcasts. Join our Facebook pages. (We have two – one for Clark’s podcast and one for Rhitu’s.) And chat with some of the world’s top scientists and science writers in the World Science Forum. We host a new Forum guest approximately twice per month, so check back often!

This site continues to be a work in progress. Tell us what you think. What can we do better? What features should we add?  What stories do you think we should cover?  Please leave your comments below.

Thanks for being a part of our community!
